Over the summer we were invited to our friends Juan & Justine’s Couples Baby Shower. I’m always curious to observe how the mix of genders will play out at such things but they did a great job hosting a lovely shower for their friends and kept them all engaged in fun games! They always have something different and unique at their gatherings and because I’m a sucker for DIY & creative ideas I enjoyed being at this shower even more when I saw the favors. I know I got excited about a party favor, it’s the little things that amuse me.
Here’s why I got so excited: A baby shower favor that’s useful for both genders. Is there such a thing?
Yes!
Justine bought mason jars and layered them with ingredients of chocolate chip cookies. She gave it an even more personal touch by hand writing all the ingredients and the process to bake the cookies. Everything I need to bake cookies was in a jar, all I needed were the eggs. I enjoyed the ease of having all the ingredients ready for me and was able to bake more than two dozen cookies from the jar. A nice, useful, and creative favor! Aren’t these the keywords we all search for online when a party rolls around?
There are so many occasions these mason jar gifts can be useful for, I listed some ideas of what to fill them with:
- Layer favorite ingredients of cookies, brownies, or cake mix.
- Make it a drink! Add dry ingredients of a punch or flavored milk in a jar.
- Homemade sugar scrubs, yes these are easy to make.
