Latte art was brought into my life via social networking sites. Prior to this, I wasn’t sure what ‘latte art’ really was but I knew I wanted to try it. A few tweets and searches later I found Octane Coffee Bar & Lounge nestled in Midtown, Atlanta.
The experience: Lofty and airy space with minute details of decor that really make you feel cozy. Octane’s glass wall has quotes from customers, employees, and celebrities. They range from funny to philosophical to huh? But unique and interesting nonetheless.
When you walk in you are surprised by another element in the space, Little Tart Bakeshop (hours differ from coffee bar). The aroma of baked goods and coffee really get you excited about trying everything here. As you become familiarized with the menu you find they have housemade syrups, Holeman & Finch pastries, and some quick bites. And the baristas behind the counters are insightful about coffee and really make you feel like you are a regular there.
I ordered a regular latte with one of their flavored syrups, as it was served and placed in front of me I was awake! The smell of the coffee is the first thing that hits you, then the prettiness of latte art that you want to photograph and share right at that moment with everyone you think who cares, and then the flavor. Ahh, to my surprise it was definitely some of the best coffee I’ve had in Atlanta. First sips’ first thought, why didn’t I find this place earlier?!
Verdict: If you truly love coffee, GO!
